HRVY answers his biggest fans' questions

HRVY, real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell, joined us backstage at Hits Live Liverpool, having a chat with presenter Jordan Lee before he took to the stage to delight his biggest fans.

There’s no doubt that HRVY has some of the most loyal fans around right now, so before taking to the stage, we just had to ask the 20-year-old singer some of the most sought after fan questions on the Internet.

What is the most inspirational and exceptional moment HRVY has had?

HRVY said, “Oh wow! The most exceptional moment... Probably selling out the Apollo in London. It was inspiring seeing the amount of amazing people who have played there. So, to say that I’ve done a show there and I’ve sold it out, I mean, at least I can say that one day, it’s kind of cool.”

Who is HRVY’s idol?

The singer told Jordan, “I’ve got a lot of idols. I’ve got a lot of people that I look up to, there’s not specifically one person that I idolise, but I idolise people like Billie Eilish and Shawn Mendes because of how successful they are, and how young they are.

"The message they spread in their music and how artistic they are, I think it’s really cool to be doing that kind of stuff at such a young age and they are killing it and doing well, so I aspire to hopefully one day be there.”

What inspired HRVY to start singing?

Adorably, HRVY told Jordan, “My grandad! He used to play the guitar and play the piano and I just thought it was really cool and I wanted to do the same. That’s where I think I’ve got my love for music and singing.

"And also YouTube actually. Just to see people cover songs, I loved how they got an original song and made it their own. I just thought that was really cool so I started doing covers and I just went from there.”

What would HRVY be doing if he wasn’t a singer?

He said, “I have no idea because I’ve never thought about anything else other than what I’m doing. It sounds so boring but I really like real estate, like houses and development. I’d want to have my own estate agents and sell houses.

"Million Dollar Listing, I’m a big fan! It’s because I want a big house one day. I want to live in America and have a house in the UK as well.“

When does HRVY put his Christmas tree up?

HRVY added, “1st of December. No earlier, no later. I think the first is a good day to put it up. 27th it needs to come down. I do love Christmas so I like to have it up for a whole month."

If HRVY could only eat one thing for the rest of his life what would it be?

“Nandos! That’s it!"

Will HRVY ever release a Christmas song?

The 20-year-old said, “I think so! I do like Christmas songs but, yeah I probably would. There’s so many classics, I feel like those are going to be the classics forever. It’s so hard to have a breakthrough Christmas song that’s going to be remembered forever. I might try it, but I’m happy with the Christmas songs that there is, I don’t think we need any more."

HRVY is a Hits Live veteran, having previously performed at Hits Live Birmingham earlier this year. Having previously supported Little Mix, HRVY shot to fame in 2018 with single 'I Wish You Were Here'.

The singer, whose real name is Harvey Cantwell, has since collaborated with Jonas Blue on 'Younger', which has stormed the charts and become a huge hit and we were loving hearing it during his performance at Hits Live Liverpool!
