There’s been a lot of speculation over whether Jay-Z actually cheated on Beyoncé after she hinted he’d been unfaithful on her conceptual album 'Lemonade'. Jay-Z then followed up these accusations hinting at relationship problems when he released '4:44'. But we had no concrete proof.

Now, the rapper has addressed these rumours in an interview with the New York Times. And it turns out there’s absolutely no hope for any of us as Jay-Z revealed he did actually cheat on Queen B.

Chatting about issues in their relationship he explained, "You have to survive. So you go into survival mode, and when you go into survival mode, what happens? You shut down all emotions.”

He went on to admit the problems in their relationship were so ‘deep’ he turned to ‘infidelity’.

"So, even with women, you gonna shut down emotionally, so you can't connect. ... In my case, like, it's deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity," he told New York Times.

So, there really is a ‘Becky with the good hair’, we’re just not entirely sure who she is.

Jay-Z also suggested he considered leaving Beyoncé, opening up about divorce rates and how most people ‘walk away’, before couples’ therapy helped them stay together.

"The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself,” he told the publication.

But it looks like the hard times in the couple's relationship is now over as they recently welcomed their second and third children.

After announcing her pregnancy with THAT photo, Beyoncé revealed she'd given birth to twins Rumi and Sir Carter in June this year.

Holding her new son and daughter in her arms, the 'Halo' singer wears a long green veil as she poses in front of a stunning arrangement of flowers. Alongside the photo she wrote, 'Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today'. sic

The couple also share five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy together after welcoming her in 2012.
