Jedward have shard the heartbreaking news that their mum has died, after a three-year battle with cancer. The twins, who shot to fame under Louis Walsh on X Factor in 2009, took to their Twitter page to share with their 600,000 fans that their mum Susanna had passed away.
Sharing two photos of themselves with their mum Susanna, the twins wrote, 'Rest In Peace Mammy. You live on through us. We will miss you and your smile.
'You shaped the character of who we are. Mammy lived with cancer for many years but was always full of life! You live on in our Memories and will always be alive in our Hearts.'
'Absolutely shocked guys I am so sorry, she was so proud of you both and you know the immense love she had for you hopefully she’s at peace and she’s happy now. Everyone is here for u,' wrote one commenter.
'I am so unbelievable sorry for your loss,' said another. 'Your Mammy was one of a kind and such a sweet and loving soul, she’ll never be forgotten and she was so extremely proud of you two! Sending you so much love, always here for you R.I.P. Susanna.'
One more wrote, 'I’m absolutely devastated. Susanna has always been as much a part of the Jedward experience for me as you are. I can’t even imagine how you’re feeling right now, I’m shaken.'
Jedward didn’t win that series of X Factor – which also launched the careers of Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs – but have enjoyed a successful career in TV since their time on the show.
In 2011 they went into the Celebrity Big Brother house and placed third.
