It was one of the biggest celebrity sagas of 2016 and now it seems the drama between Stephanie Davis and Jeremy McConnell is still going on in 2017.

Stephanie welcomed her baby boy into the world earlier in the month and despite claiming the baby wasn’t his due to the timing of Stephanie’s periods, Jeremy has now vowed to ‘step up’ if it’s proven that he’s the father.

Speaking to Star magazine, he said, "I am delighted that Steph has safely had the baby. If he is my son, I will absolutely step up and do what I can to support him. Any timescale for that is in Steph's hands now. I did reach out to her some weeks ago but didn't hear back."

A source close to Irishman also added, “He's told friends he really wants to sort the situation out and find out if he is the father. If he is the dad of the child, then he's determined to step up to the plate.”

Jeremy reportedly flew home early from his lad’s holiday to Thailand earlier in the month when he found out Stephanie had given birth.

The former Hollyoaks star announced the news via her manager Adam Muddle on Wednesday 11th January.

Speaking to OK Magazine! he said, “We are delighted to confirm that our client Stephanie Davis gave birth to a baby boy today. Mother and baby are doing fine."

Steph later shared the first photo of her little one to fans.

Taking to Instagram, the proud mum gushed over her new arrival by posting a cute snap of his little hand. Alongside the image she wrote, ‘The day my world became complete. I’ve been overwhelmed and so in love with you. Words could never describe. Thank you for all your support!’

The actress is keeping fans waiting by not revealing her son’s name for the time being, but we can’t imagine it will be too long before she reveals it on her social media channels.
