Hollywood icon Johnny Depp has put his vast pirate-themed French estate up for sale for a cool £16.5million.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star’s truly breath-taking 37-acre estate north of Saint Tropez is essentially an entire French village that he spent 15 years and reportedly millions of pounds restoring.

Depp used the sprawling Provençal village as a holiday home with his former wife Vanessa Paradis and their two children.

The estate consists of a main house, several guesthouses, a chapel, a bar & restaurant, a workshop/garage, a staff house and offers 1,000 square foot of inside space.

Set in simply gorgeous landscaped grounds, the stone houses date back to more than 200 years ago to 1812.

As well as the historic property, the buyer will also get to keep Depp and Paradis’ furniture, books, artworks and personal belongings including a Pirates of the Caribbean-esque room complete with skulls and brightly coloured garments.

Alexander Krafter, owner of Sotheby's International Realty France, said: “Contrary to many other properties of major international celebrities, Johnny Depp's estate has not been decorated by an interior designer, but by Johnny himself. As a consequence, the estate is not a ritzy showplace, but an utterly charming family home that truly reflects Johnny Depp's unique character and taste.

"The renovation of the estate has really been a true labour of love for Johnny. Over several years, he painstakingly restored and decorated all the houses of the village one by one, bringing his very personal touch to the project and creating a property of exceptional character.

"In a rare move seldom seen in real estate sales of similar character, the asking price actually includes all of the property's furniture and a great number of personal belongings of Johnny Depp. Thus, the purchaser will be able to not only acquire an exceptional property, but also many personal items of one of the greatest stars of our times."
