Liam Payne reveals the reason why he isn't planning on marrying Cheryl

No marriage plans for Liam and Cheryl just yet!

It's been nearly three months since Liam Payne and Cheryl welcomed their first child into the world, Bear Grey Payne, but it looks like the One Direction singer doesn't have any plans to marry his girlfriend any time soon.

Despite being totally loved up, Liam told an interviewer marriage 'isn't on the cards'. He said, "I see marriage as more of a religious thing and I'm not really a religious person, so no, not yet, unfortunately."

He then added, "We have a baby together! Our love for each other can't be more serious, so it is what it is I guess."

Despite having no marriage plans, Liam has been gushing about his girlfriend at an event he attended last night.

During a backstage interview for Lorraine at the Glamour Awards, Liam admitted he thinks Cheryl is 'the best mum in the world' as he said, "She has been amazing, she has literally been the best mum in the world and that's all I can ask for."

The One Direction singer then added, "Obviously, she has supported me going off and doing my thing with my career and stuff. She has literally been mum of the year she is amazing."

Liam, who's recently released his debut single 'Strip That Down', also admitted he's learnt how hard it is being a mum, after becoming a dad for the first time back in March.

Speaking at the event, Liam said he now knows to 'look after the women in your life' after realising how hard it can be for new mums.

Speaking about Cheryl, he said, "It's literally such a hard thing and she hasn't had any help from anybody. She has done it all herself."

Cheryl and Liam shocked fans back in February 2016 when they announced they were dating when Liam uploaded a cosy snap of the pair to his Instagram.

They were then spotted on a number of dates before making their red carpet debut in Paris in May.

Just a few months later rumours started to circulate that the pair were expecting their first child together, after Cheryl was spotted with a small baby bump on a number of occasions.

After months of speculation the pregnancy was then confirmed in February 2017 when Cheryl showcased her bump in a photograph for a joint campaign with The Princes Trust and L'Oreal Paris.

Then in March the couple finally announced they'd welcomed a healthy baby boy called Bear Grey Payne to the world.

Taking to Instagram to share their happy news, both Liam and Cheryl shared a cute snap of their new arrival in his dad's arms.

Alongside the photo Cheryl wrote, 'On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever 💙'.

Sharing the same photo, proud dad Liam wrote, 'My close friends and family know there are very few times when I'm left speechless... wow! I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far.'

He went on to add, 'I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she's really made my dreams come true. We haven't named him yet but he's already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed.'

Since then neither parent has shared any further photos of Bear, with Liam only sharing details about his son's name and who he looks like in an interview.

Liam has been promoting his debut single 'Strip That Down' over the last few weeks. The upbeat hip-hop style track is his first solo single since One Direction started their hiatus back in January 2016.

The 23-year-old was the last member of the band to release any material, after putting the release back for the arrival of little Bear.

Just last week Liam delighted fans when he dropped the official music video for his single.
