One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has faced an incredibly hard past month, with the tragic death of his 18-year-old sister Félicité Tomlinson on 13th March, just two years after the passing of their mother, Johannah Deakin.

After staying silent for a number of weeks, Louis took to Twitter last week (17th April) to thank everyone for their support. And now, the star has taken to Instagram to share some of his thoughts as he reflects on his career. He captioned the image, 'Wanted to get this off my chest' sic.

In the candid post, Louis continued, 'Over the last few weeks I've put a lot of things in to perspective and in fact what I should be doing is forgetting about perception and to a certain degree worry less about being defined on commercial success.' sic

He then wrote, 'I'm not here to compete with the likes of drake and Ariana grande. I'm here to make music I love and make my fans proud to say they're a fan. Turning a page today.' sic

Fans immediately jumped into the comments to share their love and support for the singer, including his sister, Lottie Tomlinson, who wrote, 'Love you x' sic.

One fan added, 'We're proud of you king!' sic, with another writing, 'So proud. Love and support you always.💓💓💓' sic.

Louis posted on Instagram for the first time since the tragic news on Saturday (20th April), sharing an image of himself in the studio. His pleased fans were quick to comment on the photo, with one writing, 'This is truly a blessing. 🤩🤩' sic and another writing, 'Strongest person on this world' sic.
