Mariah Carey engaged to billionaire James Packer after whirlwind romance

Pop superstar Mariah Carey is engaged to her billionaire beau James Packer.
Although the pair are yet to announce the news on social media, representatives for the couple have confirmed the engagement to the BBC and Daily Mirror.
The couple confirmed they were an item last June shortly after they were photographed on a luxury holiday together in Italy.
Australian media mogul James reportedly got down on one knee in New York while they were surrounded by family and friends.
One of the best-selling recording artists of all time, 45-year-old Mariah is already worth an estimated £365million thanks to her hundreds of millions of record sales around the globe, sell out tours and product endorsements.
However, that fortune is dwarfed by James who is Australia’s eighth-richest person and with an estimated worth of a whopping £2.3billion.
James inherited his father Kerry Packer’s sprawling media empire and also heads the worldwide gambling empire Melco Crown Entertainment.
Mariah said of the moment they first met: "We were talking and laughing and people were getting mad at us and stuff like that. So, we hit it off."
James has previously been married to models Jodhi Meares and Erica Baxter and has three children to Erica.
Mariah has also been married twice and split from America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon in 2014. Their twins Monroe and Moroccan were born in April 2011.
