We caught up with Mark Ronson ahead of his INCREDIBLE performance at Hits Radio Live to talk about his musical connection to the UK, working with Miley Cyrus and putting together a setlist for his shows...

Hits Radio evening show presenter Jordan Lee, asked Mark if he still feels like part of his soul is in the UK? Reflecting, Mark said, "Yeah a big part of my soul, it’s a big part of my musical influence. I grew up here until I was eight, my parents are both English, I met so many of the artists from Amy (Winehouse) and Lily (Allen) to all the people I work with now, some of the people are from here."

As well as covering musical influences, we had to ask about his stand-out moments from 2019. Mark told us, "I think one of the best times was the whole Glastonbury weekend. We did Club Heartbreak, Miley Cyrus was there, King Princess was there."

He also added that his win for Best Original Song at the Oscars was a highlight, "The Oscar’s with Lady Gaga for ’Shallow', that was a highlight for sure."

Of course Lady Gaga’s intimate performance with Bradley Cooper, her A Star Is Born co-star, has gone down as a moment in Oscar’s history.

Talking about how he felt when he saw their performance, Mark said, "When they sing the song, that felt very real."

Music legend Mark Ronson has been in and out of the charts for over 20 years now, bringing some of the best songs of the last two decades to your ears. Working with the late, great Amy Winehouse, Mark was partly responsible for their cover of 'Valerie', and even produced her album 'Back To Black'.

Having recently worked on the soundtrack for A Star Is Born with Lady Gaga, Mark also released his fifth album 'Late Night Feelings' in June this year, spawning singles 'Nothing Breaks Like A Heart' with Miley Cyrus and 'Find U Again' with Camila Cabello.

The fantastic line-up at Hits Live Manchester included, Robbie Williams, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Mabel, Mark Ronson, Anne-Marie, Tom Walker, HRVY and Jonas Blue.
