Miley Cyrus has her sights on a very different career path
She's just released her song 'Midnight Sky'
She's busy releasing new music, but that hasn't stopped Miley Cyrus finding some time to catch up with Hits Radio Breakfast with Fleur East, James and Producer Matt. This morning (17th September), Miley joined us via Zoom to talk about her new single 'Midnight Sky', the inspiration behind it and a new career path that she would like to follow.
'Midnight Sky' was released on 14th August and we're loving it on Hits Radio. Speaking about the inspiration behind the new song, Miley explained that it was really written in two parts. "The idea for the song and the writing, happened at very different times," Miley explained.
Miley went on to reveal her last night out before the Pandemic hit inspired her opening lyrics as it had hundreds of disco balls on the ceiling, "It's been a long night and the mirror's tellin' me to go home."
Revealing that the song was actually written during the lockdown, Miley said it was almost as if it's a fantasy.
Miley also revealed that she directed her music video, which is pretty amazing. Admitting that she'd love to be a film director, she decided to start with a short music video instead.

The singer explained, "I know what I've done for the past 10 years of work, where to I want to go?"
Continuing, "I've thought a lot about directing and directing films, and producing films and writing. And then I thought, the best way to see if I'm ready for something like that, is not by starting with a two hour film, but a three minute music video."
Miley also touched on how losing all of her possessions in the California wildfires two years ago affected her. "When I had the house fire in Malibu I saw a huge shift in my voice, I think just from the trauma, I think I started guarding myself in a new way. And, in that, because this (my voice) is the most precious thing I have left."
The singer lost all of her art, books and photos in the fire, but she said she never wanted to lose her voice.
