Singer, presenter and TV personality Peter Andre has opened up for the first time about the terrifying moment he had to rush his baby son Theo to hospital last Christmas.

Admitting their baby boy was battling Bronchiolitis, Peter and his wife Emily MacDonagh have told OK Magazine about their scary ordeal.

According to the NHS, Bronchiolitis is a common lower respiratory tract infection that affects babies and young children under two years old.

After Theo's health worsened, the youngster was forced to spend time in a oxygen chamber, with his weight dropping from 6lbs 10oz to 5lb 7oz in just a few days.

Speaking about the horrible moment, Emily said, "It was tough for me to speak about at the time but now he’s a chubby cherub and is right as rain, I feel fine to talk about it."

She then added, "He was struggling a bit with his breathing so needed oxygen in hospital".

A year on Theo is now fully recovered, with Peter and Emily looking forward to Christmas as a family. The couple also share three-year-old Amelia together after welcoming her in January 2014.

Peter also shares 10-year-old Princess and 12-year-old Junior with his ex wife Katie Price.

It seems the dad-of-four was feeling in a nostalgic mood over the weekend when he posted a throwback picture of Junior as a baby. Peter wrote, 'An old photo of Junior and I. He’ll be 13 in June. It’s crazy. Nothing but love'.

So cute! ❤️
