Phillip Schofield recalls scary 'near death experience'

Popular TV presenter Phillip Schofield joined his on-screen partner Holly Willoughby to present today's episode of This Morning, but it nearly didn't happen. Phillip, who has previously opened up about having a severe allergy to bee and wasp stings, recalled the scary moment he stood on a bee in his home last night.

Speaking to Holly, Phillip revealed that after he stood on the bee in his kitchen, he felt like he was descending down a dark tunnel, leading him to think he was about to go into anaphylactic shock. Phillip said, "My wife was ready with the EpiPen and she was saying, 'Do I do it now? Do I do it now?"

When Holly asked, "And you only do it if you can't administer it yourself?", she jokingly added, "I think I'd be tempted to go, 'Urgh, just have it'."

Philip then added, "I think Steph was disappointed because you've got to go in via the bum cheek." 🙈

Luckily for Philip, as it was on the sole of his foot, and the sting didn't go all the way in, he was able to make a full recovery. The 56-year-old later joked to viewers that he made a full recovery in time to watch the England match and Love Island. He added, "I'm fine now. I would've missed the match and I'd have missed Love Island!"

Luckily Phillip recovered in time because superstar Robbie Williams was on today's show, discussing THOSE rumours about The X Factor.

Robbie told Phillip and Holly, "As it happens, people are talking, nothing has been signed. But watch this space. I promise if it is a go ahead and I do it you will be the first people I come and speak to about it."
