He told us all about it at Hits Live!

Robbie Williams may be from Stoke-On-Trent, but he's always had a special place in his heart for Manchester - so his performance at Hits Radio Live on Sunday 17th November was a pretty special event!

Before he took to the stage at Manchester Arena, Robbie sat down for a chat with us backstage and told us all about his upcoming Christmas album 'The Christmas Present', which is set to be released this week on 22nd November!

But he also told us something about him that's totally different to modern society these days... He hasn't had a mobile phone since 2006! When asked how people get hold of him, he said, "I’m on my computer all the time if anybody needs me I’ve always, always got my computer.

"I’m a pop star, so I’ve got security with me all of the time," he added, before explaining, "I don’t because I don’t like speaking on the phone. I’ve got a phone phobia, I have always had it. I’m deadly serious."

Explaining further, Robbie went on, "I prefer this, looking you in the eye and seeing your face for some reason, this makes me feel comfortable. You know like when people talk over each other on a phone conversation, that is enough to shatter me.

"I hate that. So it’s true there’s an actual thing called phone phobia. I can’t remember what the name of it is, but I’ve got it." So there we go!

After the release of his 11th solo album 'The Heavy Entertainment Show' in 2016, music legend Robbie is preparing to drop his first ever Christmas record, 'The Christmas Present' next week on Friday 22nd November!

Following his successful stint on The X Factor judging panel alongside his wife Ayda Field, Robbie has worked with Rod Stewart, Jamie Cullum, Bryan Adams - and even boxer Tyson Fury on his upcoming festive record.

The fantastic line-up at Hits Radio Live includes, Robbie Williams, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Mabel, Mark Ronson, Anne-Marie, Tom Walker, HRVY and Jonas Blue.
