Ryan Reynolds posts 'heartbroken' message after stunt woman killed filming Deadpool 2

Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds has paid an emotional tribute on Instagram after it was sadly revealed that a stunt woman has died on the set of Deadpool 2.

Joi 'SJ' Harris tragically lost her life performing a stunt on a motorbike for the upcoming new movie.

Ryan, who plays the lead role in Deadpool, paid his respects. The actor wrote, 'Today we tragically lost one of our crew while filming Deadpool. We're heartbroken, shocked and devastated... but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and in explainable pain her family and loved ones must feel at this moment. My heart pours out to them, along with every single person she touched in this world'. sic

According to witnesses the rider lost control of the motorbike and crashed into a glass window. Vancouver police are currently investigating.

Deadpool director David Leitch also paid his tributes.

He told The Hollywood Reporter, "I’m deeply saddened by the loss of one of our stunt performers today. No words can express how I and the rest of the Deadpool 2 crew feel about this tragedy. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and loved ones in this difficult time."

Deadpool 2 is Marvel's hugely anticipated sequel to the 2016 movie Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds as the main character.

The first movie was a massive hit with fans and at the box office making a gross profit of around ÂŁ604 million worldwide.

Deadpool 2 is due to arrive in cinemas in 2018.
