Ant McPartlin's boss, Simon Cowell, has reportedly been 'spoiling' Ant to cheer him up since his divorce was announced. Ant, who announced his separation from his wife Lisa last weekend, is in Blackpool this week to launch the new series of Britain's Got Talent along with co-host Declan Donnelly and the judges.
However, Simon has reportedly been keen to ensure that Ant is 'all smiles' while they film the first week of auditions, and has been 'spoiling' him with various treats.
For those who are wondering whether Simon's 'nasty guy' mask is starting to slip - don't! It's purely for the good of the show, according to a source who spoke to the Daily Star.
The source revealed that Simon has been lavishing gifts on Ant to keep his spirits up and distract him from his divorce, so that the show can go on.
They said, "Simon knows that when Ant and Dec are on song, so is the show. Ant has to be his focus as the drama in his private life could be a sideshow.
"Simon wants to cheer him up and that’s why he’s spoiled him rotten."
They then went into detail, revealing that Simon had been offering Ant lifts in his private jet, as well as paying for him to have head massages. He's even got David Walliams to give him a private performance to brighten his mood.
This comes after a report that Ant will be paying out a whopping £31m to wife Lisa, who he has been married to for 11 years.
Lisa herself has been keeping her thoughts and feelings about the divorce off social media, seemingly silencing herself after hitting back at critics in the last few months of last year.
However, she did take the time to like a photo that BGT judge David Walliams posted of himself with Ant, Dec and the other judges.
This suggests things aren't too bitter between Ant and Lisa - we hope this is true!
