Ted 2 director Seth MacFarlane has told us he’d love to make a comedy movie with usually serious actor Liam Neeson.

Speaking to In:Demand Showbiz’s Lydia Batham, Seth, who’s previously worked with Liam on 2014 movie A Millions Ways to Die in the West, says he loves the idea of actors turning their hand to comedy.

Seth says his inspiration came from a sketch in Ricky Gervais’ comedy Life’s Too Short in which a hilariously downcast Liam says he’d like to move into stand-up comedy.

“Generally with dramatic actors they do kinda like the idea of coming in and doing a comedy to show they can do comedy,” Seth told In:Demand Showbiz.

“Liam is great with comedy. I don’t know whether you’ve ever seen his Ricky Gervais sketch? Liam is awesome.

“My dream at some point would be to do an entire movie with Liam where he does a Leslie Nielson Naked Gun kinda thing. Because he’s so good at playing against the comedy and therefore he’s hilarious. He just really knows what he’s doing.”

Elsewhere in our interview with Seth, he opened up about his trepidation at bringing Ted back, shedding the motion capture suit from the first movie and how he drafted in the celebs to do cameos.
