The Internet cringed last year when Tom Hiddleston was spotted wearing a 'I ❤️️ T.S.' vest while enjoying time with his girlfriend at the time Taylor Swift.
Tom wore the vest as the unlikely pair enjoyed the sun, sea and sand at Taylor's Rhode Island home, leaving some fans to think the whole romance was simply just for show.
But now, months after their romance ended, Tom has revealed exactly why he was wearing that unforgettable vest.
Speaking to GQ, Tom said, “The truth is, it was the Fourth of July and a public holiday and we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back. And I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, ’Does anyone have a T-shirt?’
"And one of her friends said, ’I’ve got this.’ And we all laughed about it. It was a joke.”
During their brief three month romance they managed to fit in dancing at a Selena Gomez concert, meeting both sets of parents, Tom wearing an 'I heart T.S' vest and of course who can forget this picture that included the best face from Ryan Reynolds! 😂
Now it’s all just a distant memory! 💔
Despite the split, it’s reported that the pair are still friends and have no hard feelings towards each other.
Meanwhile, whilst Tom continues to take Hollywood by storm, Taylor is reportedly working on her new album and gave an incredible performance last weekend.
The 'Shake It Off' singer wowed her audience when she performed at the pre Super Bowl show last Saturday.
Tay-Tay performed her brand new track 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever' for the first time, however unfortunately for fans, ZAYN wasn't in attendance for the duet.
