With the passing of broadcasting legend Sir Terry Wogan over the weekend social media has reacted to yet another notable death from cancer.

It's been just 17 days since cancer claimed its last legend - actor Alan Rickman (14th January). Earlier this month it also claimed the lives of David Bowie and Celine Dion's husband and a brother within days of each other, as well as Lemmy (Motörhead frontman) on the 28th December last year.

With cancer claiming so many legends in just five weeks, people from around the world have taken to Twitter to express their feelings about the killer disease; a disease which can affect anyone, no matter how rich or famous they are.

Below are a small selection of the thousands of tweets people have been posting with one clear message, 'bloody cancer'.

Even celebrities such as Davina McCall have got involved and taken to Twitter to promote World Cancer Day which will take place on the 4th February.

You can find out more information on World Cancer Day on the Cancer Research UK website.
