Rumours are rife that the 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' will be getting a 'reboot' under the watchful eyes of the show's star, Will Smith.

According to the website TVLine.com Will Smith's production company are currently working on a pitch for a new TV series will is thought to be a 'reboot' of 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' with the 'Fresh Prince' himself taking charge of the project as executive producer.

TVLine.com quote a source saying "Overbrook Entertainment, Will Smith's production company is in the very early stages of developing a present-day family comedy that puts a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of Fresh Prince."

"I’m told a pitch is being finalized now and Overbrook will begin shopping it around in the coming weeks. "

The original TV series saw Will Smith (the character) move from West Philadelphia where he was a 'street smart' kid to live with his aunt and uncle who lived in a mansion in the wealthy Bel Air area of Los Angeles.

Will Smith has yet to confirm any of these rumours, but the prospect of a new 'Fresh Prince' is pretty exciting as next year marks 20 years since the series left our TV sets.
