4-year-old boy celebrates his birthday with a Mrs Doubtfire-themed party

Happy birthday, Evan dear!

Some kids ask for a football-themed party, others ask for a Disney theme. But when Evan Kowalski was asked what he'd like to do for his birthday, there was only one answer for him: a Mrs Doubtfire theme!

Evan's mum, Laura Kowalski of Wyandotte, Michigan, is a talented cake decorator at Cakes By Sweetypants, who brought out her skills for the occasion and made an incredible character cake for her son.

Evan's uncle even made cards and party bags for all the guests, with Mrs Doubtfire on the front. Unsurprisingly, there are no Mrs Doubtfire-themed pre-made bags, so the family bought plain white ones, glued the character on, and had the phrase 'Thank you for coming, dear' and each child's name on every bag.

Evan's mum Laura told ABC News: "He thinks it's super funny how this person goes from being a dad to a nanny and then a nanny to a dad."

"When I had asked him, 'Evan your birthday is coming, what kind of party do you want?' I made some suggestions and he threw back at me, 'Mrs. Doubtfire' as if he had been thinking about it. I tried to change his mind. It was tricky, but we did it. We pulled it off."

What a brilliant idea! Laura told today.com that her problem now is living up to the theme at next year's birthday party: "I almost want to ask him now what he is going to want for next year. But maybe I don't want to know!"

The pressure's on, Laura! 🎂
