This Sir Roger Moore tribute story is absolutely beautiful

RIP, 007.

Yesterday, Sir Roger Moore passed away aged 89. And he leaves behind the greatest legacy, as the longest-serving James Bond actor. Beginning with Live And Let Die and ending with A View to a Kill, Sir Roger played 007 for 12 years.

Shortly after the announcement that he had lost his courageous battle with cancer, Twitter user @marchaynes published a touching story of the time he met his idol Roger Moore, when he was just 7 years old.

If you shed a small tear on reading this, embrace it: so did we.

It seems we weren't the only ones welling up.

"Absolutely magnificent and true to form of Roger's immense warmth," said Olly Smith. "That is glorious. Close to crying at my desk," tweeted Rick Burin, and Vijay Amritraj simply wrote: "Fantastic story. I can completely relate to it. Because that's exactly who Roger is. Bless him."

They couldn't have put it better.

RIP, Sir Roger Moore.
