Blue: A look back at all of their biggest songs from 'All Rise' to 'Curtain Falls'

Simon Webbe, Duncan James, Antony Costa and Lee Ryan, better known as the band Blue, released their debut song 'All Rise' back in 2001. Since then they have had quite the career, with hits such as 'Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word' featuring Elton John, 'Breathe Easy', 'One Love' and they have started 'The Greatest Hits Tour', and announced a new single 'My City'.

While we're waiting for the new song to arrive, let's take a look at some of the band's biggest songs - including some fantastic throwbacks such as 'If You Come Back' from 2001 and 'Fly By II' from 2002.

What are Blue's biggest songs?

Blue - 'All Rise' (2001)

'All Rise' was Blue's debut song and a Number 4 hit in the UK. It was written by Stargate, who also wrote many of the band's biggest hits between 2001 and 2003.

Blue - 'Too Close' (2001)

Blue followed-up their debut success with 'Too Close', a cover of American R'n'B group Next's 1997 song. 'Too Close' was even more successful than 'All Rise' reaching Number 1 in the UK, as well as being a Top 10 hit in several other countries.

Blue - 'If You Come Back' (2001)

'If You Come Back' was Blue's third single, and another big hit for the band, once again reaching Number 1 in the UK. The song went on to be certified Silver selling over 200,000 copies in the UK.

Blue - 'Fly By II' (2002)

'Fly By II' was a remixed version of the band's album track 'Fly By' and became a Top 10 hit for Blue when it was released in 2002.

Blue - 'One Love' (2002)

'One Love' was Blue's lead single from their second album also called 'One Love'. The song was once again certified Silver and reached Number 3 in the UK.

Blue and Elton John - 'Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word' (2002)

Blue teamed up with Elton John to cover his 1976 song, 'Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word', in 2002. The song was a chart success for the band going to Number 1 in the UK and a number of other countries.

Blue - 'U Make Me Wanna' (2003)

'U Make Me Wanna' was the band's third and final single from their album 'One Love'. Released in 2003, the song reached Number 4 in the UK and was another song produced by Stargate.

Blue - 'Guilty' (2003)

Co-written by Take That's Gary Barlow, 'Guilty' was Blue's first song from their third album. The song was a commercial success, reaching Number 2 in the UK.

Blue - 'Breathe Easy' (2004)

'Breathe Easy' was co-written by Lee Ryan and featured on the band's third album. The song was a Top 5 hit for Blue.
The song was also released by Blue in Italian. The Italian version, called 'A chi mi dice' (To Those Who Tell Me), was very successful becoming Italy's best-selling single of 2004.

Blue - 'Bubblin'' (2004)

'Bubblin'' was Blue's last single from their album 'Guilty', as well as the English version, a French version of the song was recorded with French boyband Linkup called 'You and Me Bubblin''.

Blue - 'Curtain Falls' (2004)

'Curtain Falls' featured on Blue's greatest hits album 'Best of Blue' and was co-written by the band and Stargate. The song reached Number 4 in the UK and sampled Stevie Wonder's 'Pastime Paradise', which known for being featured in the 1995 hit by Coolio 'Gangsta's Paradise'.
The song was also re-recorded in French, 'Quand le rideau tombe', however the English version was more successful in France.

Did Blue break up?

Blue didn't break up, but they did have a hiatus between 2005 and 2011 because they wanted to spend time on their solo careers. In 2009, they said they would like to reform, but it didn't happen until 2011.

When did Blue get back together?

Blue reunited in 2011, releasing 'I Can' in the same year, they also released several songs until 2015, along with their albums 'Roulette' and 'Colours', which were both Top 20 albums.

Then, after a break of seven years, Blue released new music in 2022. The band's comeback single 'Haven’t Found You Yet' was released in May, then on 28th October 2022 they released their brand new sixth studio album called 'Heart & Soul'.

What are Blue doing now?

Blue have now started 'The Greatest Hits Tour', which will see the band performing across the UK. They started in Liverpool on 16th April and will continue until 11th May when they will be in Manchester.

Before their tour started, the band said: "As this is a theatre tour, we wanted it to have a different kind of feel – welcoming, more intimate with the chance to sing our biggest hits and share stories with our fans who have been with us for so many years now. We can’t wait to put this show together and get it out there!"

Girls Aloud have announced they will be reuniting for a tour in 2024. The tour is called 'The Girls Aloud Show' and will see the group performing many of their fantastic hits in celebration of their late bandmate Sarah Harding.

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj will be going on her 'Pink Friday 2 World Tour' in May 2024, including UK dates, in Manchester, Birmingham and London.

Jonas Brothers 2024

Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas, otherwise known as the Jonas Brothers, will play four UK dates in September 2024 (rescheduled from June), in Manchester, London, Birmingham and Glasgow.

P!nk

P!nk is bringing her 'Summer Carnival Tour' back to the UK for 2024. The singer will be supported by The Script, Gayle and DJ and producer KidCutUp. Her tour takes place throughout June 2024.

Anne-Marie

Anne-Marie has announced a continuation of her 'Unhealthy Club' tour. This new summer tour will see the singer performing at festivals and other outdoor locations. Her summer tour will take place in June and July 2024.

Taylor Swift - 'The Eras Tour' 2024

Taylor Swift has now announced several UK dates for her 'Eras' tour. The singer will be coming to Liverpool, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London in June and August 2024.

Tom Grennan - Gunnersbury Park

Tom Grennan has announced his biggest headline gig ever at Gunnersbury Park, London on Saturday 10th August 2024.

Busted

Busted will be going on tour in the summer of 2024, starting on 17th May in Marlow and continuing throughout the summer until 31st August in Scarborough.

Jess Glynne - 'Summer 2024'

Jess Glynne has announced outdoor dates for summer 2024. The singer will start in June 2024 in Scarborough and perform across England and Wales, finishing in London in August.

Becky Hill - Arena tour 2024

Becky Hill has announced nine UK dates for her first arena tour in 2024. They take place in October 2024.

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa has announced a one-off gig at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 17th October, where fans can expect her to perform many of the new songs from her album 'Radical Optimism'.

Scooter

'Jumping All Over The World' legends Scooter are heading around the UK and Ireland on their 30th anniversary tour - titled 'Thirty, Rough and Dirty'. Dates take place in October and November.

Charli XCX

Charli XCX has announced four extra dates for her 'BRAT' UK tour, with special guest Shygirl. The singer, known for hits such as 'Boom Clap', and 'Speed Drive' from the Barbie movie, will be performing in Manchester, London, Birmingham and Glasgow.

Usher

Usher has announced several dates in the UK in March, April and May 2025. Tickets are now on sale for all dates.
