It's a been a while since we've heard from former One Direction singer Niall Horan, after he released three top 10 singles and a number 1 album last year, however now he has started teasing his brand new single, which is also featured on a new film soundtrack.

Taking to social media, Niall posted details of the single 'Finally Free', along with the single's artwork saying, 'Delighted to announce my song ‘Finally Free’ for @Smallfootmovie . It will be released 6th July #Smallfoot'.

He followed up his first tweet by telling his fans, 'This song will be part of the soundtrack for the movie . From the minute I seen a small clip from it , I was in straight away.. it’s a must see'. sic

And with the announcement of this new music, Niall's fans have been sent into a frenzy. One fan tweeted, 'the movie looks cute as hell, we all love animated movies !', sic to which Niall responded 'This one has something special about it . It’s not just like any other animation .' sic

Although he hasn't released much music recently, Niall has been on tour in the UK this year. While on tour he performed a cover of Camila Cabello's 'Crying In The Club' and she even publicly praised the singer saying,'WOWEEEEEE @NiallOfficial 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🌹🌹🌹'. sic

Away from music, in May, Niall was in the news after he tweeted a cute photo of a message he received on a long distance flight. Posting a photo of a message given to him by the baby's parents, Niall tweeted, 'Had the coolest little goodie bag on the plane with this letter enclosed . Marit was quiet as a mouse for 10 hours . Goodluck to both dads.' sic

With his kind comments Niall posted a photo of the message which read, 'Hi Stranger. My name is Marit. Today, I'm 18 days old. I'm flying home to Europe with my dads. This is my first flight ever. I will do my utmost to be on my best behaviour to ensure that you have a peaceful flight,' above a photo of the young baby.

Niall's new song 'Finally Free' will be out on the 6th July and features on the Smallfoot soundtrack, which is out on September.

20. The Lost City Of Z

2013's The Immigrant is sadly still waiting for a UK release, so praise be to the cinematic gods that James Gray's The Lost City Of Z arrived without delay. Based on the true-life tale of British explorer Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam), this dense but always gripping biopic is part political drama, part family drama and part adventure.
On discovering the remnants of an indigenous society, Fawcett spent his life trying to prove his Amazonian finds until his unexplained disappearance in 1925. Containing one of the most beautiful scenes of the year, this undseen gem deserves, nay, demands your attention.

Earlier this year it was announced that Channing Tatum would be starring in the animated film. Channing plays a yeti scientist who is determined to prove the existence of Smallfoot (humans). Cute!

As well as Channing as the lead character, the film also stars popular talk show host James Corden as Percy, a human mountaineering climber, and American actress Zendaya who plays Meechee, a yeti who believes in the Smallfoot and leads the S.E.S. (Smallfoot Exists Suckas).
