It's a tribute to her late Grandma

Fresh from wowing alongside Coldplay at the Paralympics Closing Ceremony in London, Rihanna took to Twitter in the early hours of this morning to reveal her new tattoo.

The huge design across RiRi’s chest depicts Goddess Isis, the Egyptian deity who is worshipped as the ideal mother and wife and the patron of nature and magic.

The striking tattoo is in tribute to Rihanna’s grandmother Dolly who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Unveiling the ink, Rihanna tweeted to her 25million followers: “Goddess Isis- Complete Woman - Model for future generations- #GRANGRANDOLLY - always in and on my heart.”

The Bajan superstar already has more than a dozen tattoos including music notes on her right foot, a Pisces sign behind her left ear, a trail of stars down her back, her best friend Melissa’s date of birth in Roman Numerals on her left shoulder and the word ‘Love’ on her middle finger.
