Sam Smith returns with brand new single 'To Die For' and we'll be playing it on Hits Radio

Sam Smith will be returning this Friday with new music! 'To Die For' is their first new music since 'How Do You Sleep?' was released in July 2019. Here at Hits Radio we'll be playing Sam's new song, so make sure you're listening on Friday 14th February from 6am.

Opening with a sample from 2001 cult film Donnie Darko, the new single features soaring strings and a mellow piano, as Sam's lyrics include, "I just want somebody to die for."
Sam started teasing 'To Die For' earlier this week, telling their fans, 'Hello. Happy Monday to all you beautiful people... I’m off the chart excited to announce my next single ‘To Die For’ will be in your hands and ears (and anywhere else you want to put it) this FRIDAY!!!! ❤️.'
The exciting news of new music has been welcomed by thousands of fans, with one writing, 'YES BABYYYY!!!! WE ARE READY❤️💃🏼', and another saying, 'CANT WAIT!!'.

Speaking about the new single, Sam explained, "Releasing this song is going to be a wild one – I feel like it’s from one of the deepest parts of me. I wrote this with Jimmy Napes and Stargate in LA during a time of self-discovery and heartbreak. This is for all the lonely hearts out there on another Valentine’s Day xx."

Following the release of Avicii's posthumous album, 'Tim', the music video for 'Heaven', his collaboration with Coldplay's Chris Martin was released. The video was very emotional to watch.

Ariana Grande teamed up with American duo Social House on her single 'Boyfriend'. The music video for the song featured all three of them at a house party, which ended in a fight. Ariana even ended up shooting heart-shaped lasers!

'Without You' comes four years after John's last Top 5 hit, 'Come and Get It' was released and speaking about his new collaboration, John said, "I have also been a fan of Nina and always loved working with her, it was an easy decision to get her on this stonker!"

Norwegian DJ Kygo released one of the hits of 2019 when he remixed Whitney Houston's cover of 'Higher Love'.
