Shawn Mendes confirms he'll be collaborating with a One Direction star

It's been a while since we've heard any new music from Shawn Mendes, the singer who gave us 'In My Blood' nearly a year ago, however, he has just delighted his fans by confirming some very exciting news. The pop star took to Twitter, retweeting a tweet from none other than One Direction singer Niall Horan.

Niall's initial tweet was responding to a fan who had asked, 'niall will you ever give us a song with shawn?' sic, Niall then tweeted, 'We're going to try', but Shawn took it one step further saying, 'We ARE going to!'.

Niall then replied to Shawn's tweet saying, 'Let’s do it then'.

So, there you go, you've heard it straight from the man himself, Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan WILL be collaborating, however, at present there is no other confirmed details.

Whilst Shawn and Niall haven't collaborated with each other before, Shawn has collaborated in the past with the likes of Camila Cabello, Zedd and Khalid. Whereas Niall, who has had a successful solo career since One Direction started their hiatus in January 2016, has yet to collaborate with anyone as a solo artist.

Since going solo, Niall has released his album 'Flicker', which went to Number 3 in the UK, he has also had success with his singles 'Slow Hands' and 'This Town'.

Meanwhile, as part of a larger global headline trek, Shawn Mendes will be going on tour in the UK soon! Simply called, 'The Tour' he will perform in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds before closing with two nights at The O2 in London.
