Stormzy announced to HEADLINE Glastonbury Festival in 2019

Exciting news for music fans as today Glastonbury Festival have announced their first headliner, in the form of Stormzy!

Announcing the news on social media, the music festival wrote, 'We’re delighted to announce that Stormzy is confirmed as the first headliner for Glastonbury 2019. The multi award-winning British MC will headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday, June 28th. The announcement was made via posters in the windows of Oxfam’s shops in Glastonbury town centre and in Streatham, close to where Stormzy grew up.' sic

The rapper, known for his massive hits 'Shut Up', 'Blinded By Your Grace' and 'Big For Your Boots' also shared the news on his own social media accounts.

He wrote, 'THE HEADLINE ACT - GLASTONBURY 2019, well lets be f--cking having ya then. 🇬🇧🙏🏿💪🏿. SIC

This will be Stormzy's first time headlining the massive event, but he did perform on The Other Stage last year, whilst being watched by the likes of Katy Perry and Chris Martin.

Although the full line-up for next year's festival is yet to be announced, tickets for the popular gig sold out in just 30 minutes when they went on sale last month.

Other artists rumoured to be playing include the likes of Kylie Minogue and Paul McCartney. Glastonbury Festival 2019 will take place on Worthy Farm between 26-30th June 2019.
