It's safe to say that fans went wild when The Wanted announced that they were getting back together in September. Not only did the boys announce a greatest hits album AND new music, they even performed their first live show in seven years!

Holding true to their promise, the 'Glad You Came' superstars, Max George, Tom Parker, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran, have now confirmed that their first single back is called 'Rule The World', and will be released on Wednesday 13th October.

Taking to their Instagram to tease the exciting news, The Wanted shared a video of Max, Jay and Nathan. Captioning the video, they wrote: 'Our very first single back is called .... RULE THE WORLD 🪂 it will be released at 8am BST next Wednesday 13th October!'

Of course, fans flocked to the comments to share in the excitement, with one writing: 'Ahhhh so excited😍😍' and another commenting: 'Woohoo!!! 🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉We’re all very excited and cannot wait to hear it!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️'.

After their hiatus, which began back in 2014, The Wanted took to the stage for the first time in seven years at Tom Parker's charity concert for Stand Up To Cancer called Inside My Head, which took place at the Royal Albert Hall on 20th September.

Tom, who is 33-years-old, was sadly diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2020. The singer shared in January 2021 that he was continuing treatment after the tumour had been "significantly reduced", updating fans again this week with the news that his tumour has again shrunk in size after a year of treatment.

The Wanted's greatest hits album is set to include old bangers we know and love, as well as some new tracks for us all to obsess over - we cannot WAIT!
