Bestival will take place in Toronto, Canada this year making it the first time the UK festival has gone abroad in its 12 year history.

The award-winning festival will remain as normal in the UK taking place on 10th – 13th September at Robin Hill Country Park, Isle of Wight. However Bestival will now also take place on 12th June – 13th June at Hanlan’s Point Beach in the Toronto Islands.

Bestival boss Rob da Bank says: “We have waited 12 years to decide to launch another Bestival outside of the UK and our beloved Bestival, on the Isle of Wight, which has grown into one of the most important festivals in the global calendar.

“It took a really special city, and an even more exciting site, with Toronto and Toronto Island, to make us take the leap. So, the waiting is over and we are so excited to be launching in North America in June, with the classic Bestival line-up waiting to thrill, intrigue and party!

“I’d like to thank all our partners, friends, new and old, and supporters in Toronto, for making this happen. We cannot wait!”

Bestival creative director Josie da Bank will ensure the event looks as impressive as its Isle of Wight counterpart, while Rob da Bank will attempt to bring together an eclectic bill of artists to represent the international nature of the festival.
