Amber Gill was asked to appear on Love Island villa in 2018... But she turned it down
She had a good reason to do so!
Geordie girl Amber Gill was crowned the Queen of the Love Island villa last month, when she won the popular show alongside Irish hunk Greg O'Shea, but it turns out the 22-year-old was actually asked to appear on the 2018 series.
Answering fan's questions on her Instagram Story, Amber revealed she didn't apply for the show, she was instead asked on Instagram.
She told fans, "I didn’t actually apply to go in the villa, I got asked by Instagram. I did actually get asked the year before but I had a boyfriend – but let’s not talk about it."
Of course, it was reported last week that only six of this year's 36 Islanders actually went through the application process, with these reportedly including the likes of Joe Garratt, Michael Griffiths and Amy Hart.
Meanwhile, after leaving the villa with a share of £50,000, things are getting better and better for Amber.
Not only has she reportedly 'signed up' to appear on the 2020 series of Dancing On Ice, she's also set to feature as a guest panellist on ITV's Loose Women, just like her Love Island co-star Amy Hart.
Confirming the news to The Mirror, Amber said she was “a fan of the show for ages” and was “super-excited to be joining the Loose panel."
She went on to say, “Trust me, I’ll be giving my opinions on everything from cosmetic surgery to open relationships and blended families.” She is featuring on the show on Wednesday 14th August.

Before meeting the rest of the Islanders, Greg decided to take Amber on a romantic dinner date in The Hideaway. The pair immediately hit it off, with Greg putting a smile back on her face.

After seeing Greg's approaches towards Amber, Michael realised his true feelings for her, taking Amber for a chat when Joanna was dumped from the villa.

Despite only knowing each other for two weeks, Amber and Greg won the hearts of the nation and were crowned the 2019 Love Island winners on Monday 29th July.

"I definitely will be faithful, I've always been a one woman kind of guy and Amber is a great girl.
"I'm lucky to come out with her so I can't wait to get her over here to meet my family and friends. To use the Love Island phrase, all my eggs are in Amber's basket right now, I'm only looking at her."
