The new multi coloured Union Jack shows a number of images which represent 'modern Britain', including a red telephone box, a polling station, the gates of Buckingham Palace and a pot of tea.

Channel 5 have described this year's series as a 'must-watch culture clash of modern Britain'.

The statement reads, "At a time of political upheaval and tough questions about unity in the UK, Big Brother brings you an alternative look at Britain.

"Standby for a very British summer of contrasts, conflicts and collaboration...and more fireworks than you could imagine, as a selection of people, from a range of backgrounds, come together in the ultimate social experiment."

Emma Willis is set to return as host for the show, with Rylan Clark-Neal reprising his role on Big Brother's Bit On The Side.
