The latest trailer has been released for the new series of Casualty which will open with a 35th anniversary special. The episode is set to include flashback scenes allowing some familiar faces to return.

The trailer also shows us a new character called Stevie Nash played by Elinor Lawless who seems to be connected to an incident that took place in 2016 that's led to a chain of events that will change everything.

The trailer opens with a dramatic lorry accident caused by some reckless driving in a car where a younger Jade Lovall (Gabriella Leon) was a passenger and witnessed the horrific ordeal.

With parts of the episode taking place in the past we will see the return of actors Tony Marshall, Charles Dale and Richard Winsor who will be reprising their respective roles as Noel Garcia, Big Mac and Caleb Knight for the flashback scenes.

The trailer sets up Stevie as the sister of the victim of the crash in the flashback scenes who seems to be pressing the hospital staff about their conduct: "There was a mistake or an accident wasn't there?"

The dramatic conclusion of series 35 airs this weekend

In scenes set in the present day we see Stevie back at the hospital now working as a consultant who's looking into the hospital's "grubby little secrets" and also confronting Ethan (George Rainsford) once again and letting him know that they'll be seeing more of each other.

Casualty producer Loretta Preece has said that Stevie "makes a splash right from her first episode", and she said that she's "confident she will become one of the most talked about characters in Casualty's history".

The Casualty series finale airs 7th August on BBC One with the new series beginning with the anniversary special on 14th August.

We can't wait for these TV shows to return:
