It lasted a massive 17 years, with 22 different series and two different channels, but in 2018 bosses announced that Celebrity Big Brother would be coming to complete end, leaving fans of the show totally gutted!

Despite Bit On The Side host and super-fan Rylan Clark-Neal hinting that the show could make a return in the near future, nothing has been confirmed, meaning we can just hope and pray.

Who has won Celebrity Big Brother?

Jack Dee: 2001

Jack Dee took part in the show for Comic Relief and everyone seemed surprised, none more so than Jack. The series lasted a paltry five days as it was a more innocent time.

Why did Celebrity Big Brother get cancelled?

In September 2018, the official Big Brother Twitter account announced the show would be coming to an end.

A spokesperson for the show said, "The forthcoming series of Big Brother will be the last - of either celebrity or civilian versions - on Channel 5.

"We'd like to thank Endemol and all of the production team who have worked tirelessly to make the show a success."

When was Celebrity Big Brother first shown on TV?

Celebrity Big Brother first hit our TV screens on Channel 4, way back in March 2001, as a spin-off from the popular reality TV show Big Brother. The first winner of the very short, eight-day series of Celebrity Big Brother, was stand-up comedian Jack Dee. After a successful first series the show returned in November 2002 when Take That's Mark Owen was crowned the winner.

Celebrity Big Brother then took a break for a couple of years before returning for a longer 18-day series in January 2005. Celebrity Big Brother continued every year, except 2008, until 2010 on Channel 4; before moving to Channel 5 in 2011 and airing twice a year in the summer and winter.
