Viewers of one of the most popular TV soaps around, Coronation Street, have been taking to social media after noticing a glaring error with Kevin Webster's beard in a recent episode of the show.

In the episode, which aired on Friday 17th June, Kevin Webster played by Michael Le Vell, appears to grow a full on beard in less than an hour. Now that's quite some five o'clock shadow!

The dramatic storyline unfolded in the episode between Kevin and his wife Abi, who have reunited following Abi's infidelity. Abi went to court to win custody of her son Alfie, who had been placed with Toyah Battersby and Imran Habeeb. However, after Imran's death and Toyah's murder charge, Abi had fresh hopes to get her son back.

Kevin attended court with his wife, and the pair were granted custody. Although the error might have been missed by the continuity team at the soap, fans quickly spotted how Kevin's facial hair wasn't consistent throughout the episode.

Many viewers took to social media, with one writing on Twitter: 'Same episode, same day on the soap 🤔 thinking a lot of men could use whatever Kevin is using for growing his beard 😂😂😂 @itvcorrie #coronationstreet'.

Another wrote: '#CoronationStreet Just caught up with Friday's @itvcorrie and there's a continuity issue. Has anyone noticed Kevin Webster's on and off beard? He seems to shave and it grows back in another scene and it's gone again'.

With two more saying: 'wow #KevinWebster was clean shaven, grew a beard outside his house and is now clean shaven again. some talent that. #Corrie #Coronationstreet'. (sic) and '@itvcorrie better have a word with your continuity guys - Kevin Webster beard has appeared and disappeared tonight 😳'.

Many TV shows are filmed out of sequence, so it's likely that the scenes were shot on different days and the difference in Michael Le Vell's facial hair length was missed.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and is also available on ITV Hub.
