Bosses at EastEnders have been shaking things up lately, with Jacqueline Jossa and Lorna Fitzgerald being written out of the show. But fear not! It seems not all our favourite cast members are leaving, as Danny Dyer has reportedly signed a two-year deal with the popular soap.

The actor, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, reportedly met with the show's boss John Yorke to sign the deal, and rumour has it he's set to take on a lot of interesting storylines.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday, "The last year has been a bit up and down for Danny and his character Mick. His on-screen wife Kellie Bright was off on maternity leave for a lot of it, so there was only so much they could do with him. But he's had a meeting with John and is very excited about everything he's got planned for Mick.

"It's a slightly different path for his character, there's going to be bother. It's all top secret but fans won't be disappointed, especially as Danny has signed for two years."

Fans are sure to be over the moon, as earlier this year it emerged that Danny had refused to sign his contract which is up in November 2017.

This week he was overheard telling fans on set, “This takes up my life this does. I ain’t signed yet. I’m meant to sign in October but I might elbow it.”

However a spokesperson for the show confirmed he would be staying, saying, “We never discuss artists’ contracts but we can confirm that Danny will be staying with EastEnders.”

The news of Danny's new deal comes as it was revealed Jacqueline Jossa and Lorna Fitzgerald, who play on-screen sisters Lauren and Abi Branning, will be written out of the show in what is sure to be a dramatic exit, much to the disbelief of many fans.

A spokesperson for the show said, "We can confirm that Jacqueline and Lorna will be leaving EastEnders. They have both been wonderful to work with and we wish them all the best for the future."
