It sadly didn't work out!

Strictly Come Dancing star Michelle Visage has opened up and confessed she landed a role in EastEnders as Kat Moon's cousin. The Drag Race judge made the surprise revelation when she was asked whether she prefers EastEnders or Coronation Street.

After saying EastEnders is her fave, she went to tell Good Housekeeping, "Only because I believe I am Kat Slater's American cousin. I'm still vying for that guest role." Actress Jessie Wallace - AKA Kat - then tweeted, 'I believe this too @michellevisage.'

Confused? Let us explain...

Michelle has made it clear she wants a role on EastEnders

It came to light that Michelle really WAS being set up for the role of Kat's long lost cousin as EastEnders former executive producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins, admitted that they had been in talks.

He wrote on Twitter, 'We discussed it - but then I left! @michellevisage and @JessieWallaceUK together? QUEENS. x.'

Fingers crossed this can still happen!

This isn't the first time Michelle has hinted about making a cameo on the soap. Last year - when Kat returned - she tweeted, 'If Kat is back, then she needs to let EastEnders know where she was hiding out: at her American cousin's place, aka ME. I WANT ON.'

Imagine: Kat's long lost cousin arrives and it turns out to be Michelle Visage in a leopard print fur coat? We need to see it ASAP.
