Viscountess Emma Weymouth reveals how secretive the Strictly audition process really is
She's paired with Aljaž Škorjanec!
Viscountess Emma Weymouth took to the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor for the first time on Saturday with the other celebrity contestants. Although she didn't top the leaderboard, she and her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec placed towards the middle of the table, which will stand them in good stead for this weekend when the public vote comes in.
Ahead of her next Strictly appearance, Emma spoke to Grazia magazine about the audition process - and how secretive it really is.
She told the publication, "I had a dance trial, which was so top-secret I couldn’t even tell my mum. Even after I got the job, I had a code name for my first costume fitting – Catwoman – and I wasn’t allowed to refer to the show by its name, or tell anyone what I was doing or where I was going. It was so exciting!"
And when asked if she was worried about the infamous 'Strictly Curse', Emma laughed off the question, "Haha! No, definitely not. I’m there to learn to dance. My partner Aljaž’s wife, Janette, is a dancer on the show and she’s incredible. We are going to get them both up to the house. And husband Ceawlin has been in the live audience, so he met everyone. It is like a family."
Emma also spoke about balancing life, Strictly and being a mum, adding that she's really just a normal mum! "We live in an apartment in the house. Our little section is littered with diggers and footballs. It’s like a reverse Tardis, because you come into our bit and it’s as you’d expect with two kids under five – normal.
"The TV is always on, usually with some Disney movie blaring out. We do play Uno!" she joked, adding that her kids were loving her time on Strictly too, "Definitely! They’re so excited. When we were practising the group dance, I was doing it with them, twirling them around."

Anneka said, "I haven't danced since I was 7 and Miss Beer sent me home from my ballet class because I was hopelessly uncoordinated. My family and friends haven't seen me dance since, not at a wedding or round a handbag so it's going to be a challenge for my partner. In fact I've asked for two, one on each side. I can't see myself in a long frilly dress either. But I'm feeling recklessly excited. Strictly has always been my autumn's entertainment and now I'm part of it! My children will probably leave the country."
James Cracknell

James said, "I'm really looking forward to being a part of Strictly this year. Having spent so many years mucking around in a rowing boat with big men in tight lycra, it's time I learned a new skill. I need to apologise to my kids in advance for the embarrassment."
Alex Scott

Alex said, "I am absolutely buzzing to be signed up to Strictly. It's the show I've always wanted to do and I can't believe I'm finally going to be part of it.
