First look at Line of Duty ep 6 after THAT cliffhanger ending

Following on from what was perhaps the most tense episode in TV drama history last Sunday night (18th April), Line of Duty fans are sitting patiently for episode six to arrive, wondering if DI Kate Fleming will survive that intense shoot out with bent copper PC Ryan Pilkington.
With just days to go until the penultimate episode of series six, bosses have released two brand new images from the episode, showing AC-12 arriving at the scene following the double gunshots.
The first image shows a worried looking DS Steve Arnott heading towards the crime scene with disposable gloves on, whilst Superintendent Ted Hastings, DC Chloe Bishop and Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael are also in attendance, with equally as concerned faces.
The second new image, which follows a very similar format, shows both Arnott and Bishop looking on anxious, whilst Carmichael seemingly continues to take control of AC-12 after barging her way in and cancelling surveillance operations on Terry Boyle, Ryan Pilkington and Jo Davidson.
Of course, bosses aren't giving anything away with the new images as to who was actually shot during Sunday night's intense cliffhanger ending, but after TWO gunshots were clearly heard by viewers, some die-hard fans have been re-sharing the initial Line of Duty trailer.
First published back in February ahead of the new series, bosses released a trailer which appears to be the aftermath of Sunday night's scene involving Fleming, Pilkington and Davidson.
In the clip, Superintendent Ted Hastings turns up at the crime scene with blue lights in the background, saying, "This is Superintendent Hastings, you'll be treated fairly with the full protection of the law."
After the camera then pans to a worried looking Steve Arnott, images show both DI Fleming and DCI Davidson stood with their hands up, very much alive.

Blue Lights (BBC iPlayer)
Set and filmed in Northern Ireland, Blue Lights follows three rookie police officers working in Belfast. All episodes of series one are available to stream, as is series two which was released in April 2024.

As fans will know the shoot out wasn't the only major talking point from episode five. As well Anna Maxwell Martin returning as DCI Patricia Carmichael, actor James Nesbitt made an appearance as Marcus Thurlwell, we discovered Jo Davidson is related to former OCG leader Tommy Hunter, AND, viewers noticed THAT spelling mistake with the word 'defiantly' .
