Love Island 2019 winners Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea have given their first interview since winning the show last Monday (29th July). The couple, who won the show with 48.82% of the votes, were not officially in a relationship at the time of the final, since Greg was the last arrival to the villa.

But fans of the show have been desperate to know whether they've become boyfriend and girlfriend since leaving the Love Island villa last week, arriving home to droves of fans who turned out at the airport to meet them.

Speaking in their first interview since leaving the villa, Amber and Greg told Loose Women that whilst they were exclusively dating each other and not seeing other people, they weren't officially boyfriend and girlfriend - yet.

Greg said, "We only met each other for the first time on the 15th July," as Amber added, "He hasn’t asked us yet."

The Irish hunk then sensibly said, "We’re definitely going in the right direction. I can definitely see us getting there. She needs to meet my friends and family. She hasn’t met any of my friends yet."

Amber explained how she'd become so used to life inside the villa, that normal life seemed strange, "The villa feels more normal to me now than being in the real world. I was there for that long. I can go anywhere I want, it’s weird – and having my phone!"

Whilst Greg added, "You kind of forgot about the microphone and cameras while you’re in there. It’s 24-hours a day, you can’t be conscious of that all the time. It’s great for the viewers because you get our genuine thoughts."

Amber then revealed that, although she didn't exactly have the smoothest time in the villa, the experience definitely helped her grow, "I feel like at the beginning I was quite harsh – I knew exactly what I wanted and I wasn’t settling for anything less.

"I got a bit of a reality check, quickly. I feel like I’ve grown quite a lot. With everything that’s happened it made us appreciate Greg more."

And of their relationship being so public she said, "I can see how it could put pressure on it, but I feel we get on so well and things are going so well, it doesn’t feel pressured to do that, we just are, we get on really well. Things are going well naturally."

But Greg isn't going to step away from his regular life too much, "Rugby is my first love and I also want to qualify as a solicitor. If I just dropped that now… I want to get back to my boys, get back to training, take what I can out of Love Island - but I got her!"
