Love Island fans can officially exhale a sigh of relief as it is officially confirmed that the show will be taking place in Majorca this summer, after months of speculation that ITV2's 2021 summer of love may have to take place in the UK due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Fans will be delighted to hear that the only real difference we're set to see this year is the launch date, with Love Island 2021 set to begin in late June. A TV insider told MailOnline, 'Crew members are scheduled to fly out to Majorca on June 20, with the series expected to launch a week later.'

But not to worry, the show will still run for the same amount of time, with the source continuing, 'In 2019, the first episode aired on June 3, meaning Love Island will be over three weeks later this year due to current restrictions on overseas travel.'

With Majorca being at its hottest in July and August, contestants will enjoy sizzling temperatures reaching around 30 degrees.

Despite the good news, it seems that the winter edition of the show may not have had as much luck, with the source also revealing, 'Winter Love Island on the other hand has been 'indefinitely postponed' as bosses put all their energy until the summer series.'

So with this great news confirmed, we can officially start dusting off our personalised water bottles as we prepare for Love Island's biggest show yet, set to air on ITV2 in late June 2021.
