The X Factor has been back on our screens for a few weeks now, and we've seen acts such as Misunderstood and Chloe McAllister. We've also seen Robbie Williams' dad temporarily take over from the pop star on the judging panel, and most recently, we saw an audition which was VERY emotional for One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson to watch.

The audition saw J-Sol sing a tribute to his late mum, which obviously struck a chord with Louis who lost his mum, Joannah Deakin, last year to leukaemia. Louis told The X Factor hopeful, "I lost my mum as well, you did an amazing job."

He added, "That’s the power of music that you can write such a beautiful song that’s touched us all on this panel. You’re a legend for what you’ve just done."

It wasn't just Louis who was touched by this emotional audition. Fellow judge, Ayda Williams, who also lost her dad a few years ago, found herself also welling up saying, "When he sang the first note, I was like, 'Oh my God, here we go'.

"It touched me. I feel I needed to hear that song. I needed to feel some things I wasn’t ready to deal with. I was grateful," she added.

Back in July, Louis was announced as one of the new judges on The X Factor along with Robbie Williams, Ayda Williams and Simon Cowell. The X Factor was the show that first made Louis Tomlinson famous along with Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik.

Despite not winning the series in 2010, One Direction's songs went on to be massively popular, with hits such as 'What Makes You Beautiful', 'Live While We're Young', 'Best Song Ever', 'Story of My Life' and 'Drag Me Down'.

Now take a look at One Direction through the years:
