Two men have been arrested after a woman's drink was allegedly spiked in a nightclub in Evesham.

She fell ill after being handed a drink in Marilyn's on Friday night.

She became unconscious and later fell ill in hospital.

Door staff reportedly stopped two men at the entrance of the nightclub before West Mercia Police arrived.

Both men, aged 22 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of drink spiking and sexual assault, and have been bailed as police continue their enquiries.

It comes as West Mercia Police begin Anti-Spiking Intensification Week, where the force will be highlighting the work it does to tackle the crime.

A new online reporting service has been launched, with anyone who believes they're a victim being encouraged to report straight away.
