Hundreds of calls have been made to the RSPCA about animals affected by litter in the West Midlands.

773 reports of animals found severely injured or even dead have been made to the charity in our region in the last four years.

Hedgehogs, deer and foxes are most likely to be affected.

Carianne Stones is from the charity and says: "We've received nearly 13,000 reports of animals trapped in litter over the last four years. Ideally, we would like to see no animals trapped by litter and 13,000 is just not acceptable."

"Some we can rehabilitate and put back into their natural environment, but sadly, many, many do lose their lives."

"We want to get to a point where there are NO animals being impacted by litter. Animals are having a hard enough time as it is. Litter is a very controllable thing, you know. There is a lot we can do about it."
