West Mercia Police say communities can play a vital part in clamping down on crime linked to drugs in the region.

The force say three warrants linked to drug dealing were carried out in Redditch last week, following community concerns over drugs supply in the town.

Inspector Richard Field is leading the operation across the Redditch and Bromsgrove district and says it's an important issue that needs addressing.

He said: "We've been looking into this particular issue for a while now, and people are genuinely concerned around people coming into the area or using the area to supply drugs.

"Drug dealing fundamentally is the root cause of a number of other crimes, but as well as stopping that we also need to provide support and help for people.

"You can't just look at dealing with this one way or the other, it has to be a wide approach, and there's a number of measures that are implemented to tackle drug supply within local communities."

Police say approximately £10,000 in cash was seized during the searches.
