Man dies in Rossendale crash

A man has died after a crash involving two cars in Rossendale.

Emergency services were called to Burnley Road East at 3am yesterday, after receiving reports of a crash involving a Renault Megane and a Ford Kuga.

Police say the driver of the Megane - a man in his 20s - died at the scene.

Two passengers were also taken to hospital for treatment.

In a statement, Lancashire Police said: "Our officers are appealing for anyone with properties on Burnley Road East between Waterfoot and the scene of the collision, who have CCTV or ring door bell footage, to contact police.

"If anyone was travelling in the area and has dashcam footage from around the time of the collision, we again ask them to get in touch."
