Plain clothes Police operation targets drug dealers in Blackpool
Three men have been charged
Blackpool’s Neighbourhood Task Force recently held a plain-clothed operation, focusing on drug dealing in the Claremont area as a result of community concerns.
The Task Force were accompanied by the Project ADDER (Addiction, Diversion, Disruption, Enforcement and Recovery) team, which is a programme designed to address drug addiction and tackle supply in the hardest hit local authority areas across England and Wales.
During the operation, officers saw two males conducting what was believed to be a drug deal. Officers stopped the two males, where approximately £2,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine was found along with a quantity of cash and mobile phones, resulting in their arrest.
Officers continued enquires in the area where a further linked male was located and arrested following evidence of drug supply being found on his persons.
David Payne, 38, from Lindbeck Road, Blackpool, Stephen Brown, 43, of no fixed address, and Michael McGraw, 36, from Dickson Road, Blackpool, have since been charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
Operation Warrior is Lancashire Police’s response to tackling serious and organised crime in Lancashire.
It aims to target the individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as associated issues such as violence and intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation, and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
