Dating is probably the last thing on anyone’s mind at the minute – or so you’d expect. But research is telling us something different. In fact, while we’re relating to all the memes about being single for too long, dating is on the rise, so now might just be the time that you find Mr/Mrs right on Hits Radio Dating.

Believe it or not, dating has seen a 35% increase in new registrations during lockdown. Although people can’t meet right now, people seem to be building stronger foundations of a relationship as conversations are lasting on average are lasting 15-20 mins longer than a pre-March 2020.

That means there’s less of the people online who are just looking for pointless hook ups, and more people online who are actually serious about finding someone – hurrah!

And this whole situation has meant that we’re having to be more imaginative with dating. Over the past weeks, 9 in 10 online daters admit they are willing to try new ways of dating. FaceTime dating or virtual dates have become the norm and potentially a thing to stay. Which isn’t a bad thing – I mean it’s so much easier to find an excuse to hang up than having to sneak out of a bar if it’s not going well…

So if you’re feeling a bit lonely, maybe now is the time to get online? Starting dating now really gives you the time to properly get to know someone – the good, the bad and the ugly! It gives you the time to decide if they’re worth putting on that new little black dress for or that best aftershave so when you do get around to going on that face to face date, there will be no awkward silences for sure (and with pubs closed, no embarrassing drunken moments too just yet!).

Find someone you really click with today on Hits Radio Dating and who knows, this could be the start of something amazing.
