A Gainsborough man who threatened staff with a plank of wood before stealing cigarettes and tobacco has been jailed for three years and six months
At Lincoln Crown Court the 44-year-old Sean Brookes of Wheeldon Street was sentenced for robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
He tried to take money from the till at Morrisons Local in Spital Terrace in February, but was unable to gain access.
Two staff members were praised by the Judge for heroism after they restrained him.
