An 80-year-old man's in hospital after a machete-attack at his house in Trafford.
It happened at the property on Acregate in Flixton at 9pm last night.
Two men forced their way in to the house, before threatening and attacking the man, stealing cash and fleeing the scene.
Neighbours say they're shocked and outraged at what's happened.
Beryl Burrell who lives nearby told Key 103: "It's horrific, I'm barracading my front and back doors."
An investigation's underway and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone else with information to contact them.
