Body of man found in Bury park

Emergency services were called to Openshaw Park this morning

Police say enquiries are continuing after the body of a man was found in a park in Bury.

Emergency services were called to Openshaw Park at around 6:15am on Monday 5 September. Sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the death are not believed to be suspicious.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 6:15am this morning (Monday 5 September 2022), we were called to an incident at Openshaw Park, Bury.

"Emergency services responded where sadly an adult male was found deceased at the scene. The circumstances are believed to be non-suspicious.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
